Interesting....

I must say, that the blogs have become interesting as of late...It seems as if the majority of us are having some issues keeping our weight on the right track coupled with exercise, and I am not immune from that. I think that I am doing OK, but I don't think that I will have the same amount of weight lost as before. As the weather gets nicer, it is harder to keep with Tony Horton for 1 hour, but I am. I am looking forward to the weigh-in tomorrow (I will weigh in at 8AM due to a golf tournament), but I look forward to the results of everyone. Keep positive, and good things will occur!

The workouts continue...

Today was legs and back as I continue with week 1 of P90X (the second time through). I can tell that I am much stronger than the last time that I went through it, and the Weight Watches aspect is doing well also. I continue to fit into clothes I have not worn in years, and that is its own motivation. Easter is not a real big holiday for me, although my birthday is the day before, so I know I will have a slice of cake. I am happy about my dedication throughout the contest, as I see some are having a hard time with it - which I can totally relate to...Even those days when I don't feel like spending 50 minutes with Tony Horton and listening to his same old jokes, I do for the feeling I get after it is done. I feel much better. I continue to get stronger and healthier. Have a great Easter - my first golf tournament with the Golf Channel is tomorrow - we will see how P90X translates to my game!

Excellent workout today....

Today was one of my favorites in the P90X regime....as I have started over in the program, I am now on Phase 1, week 1 - essentially the second workout of the program (except that I have already done 12 weeks). Today was shoulders and arms - a regimen of shoulders, biceps, and triceps three times in a row 12 times. Different moves are used, and I feel that I get a lot a results as I work. I am still looking to drop pounds, and the weight is still slowly going down...Keep pushing play, as Tony Horton says!

An XL...

Well, I finished the first round of P90X, all 12 cycles. When I went to go bed on Monday, I usually wear T-shirt. I chose one left from my CSU basketball season (Beat Butler), but it was an XL. I tried it on, and it fit. Not well enough that I could wear it in public, but good enough to wear to bed. I have not worn an XL in probably 15 years....New motivation! The quest continues...My new mini-goal is for the first 2 numbers of my weight to be 2-7...See you all soon!

Whew...

Things continue....the scale is moving a bit slower....The good news is that I am running out of P90X sheets, so I have to print out some new ones. I am not sure that I am losing weight per se, but I continue to lose inches, and people have noticed. I will continue to work out with a new mindset to power through the apparent plateau that I have. I like the workouts, now I just need to continue to improve. It seems some may be losing a bit a focus, which makes mere even more determined to be a success. Good Luck to all, and keep exercising!

A mindset...

I remember that I used to dread my workouts and P90X in general. Now, as I get stronger and fitter, I find that I look forward to it more and more. I still don't like Monday's, as there are a lot of pushups that make my shoulder hurt (I was hurt in an accident last year that almost killed me)....but besides that - I like the routine that I have settled into. I'm not sure if it is true, but it seems as now that I get into better shape, I seem to be sweating more. I'm not sure what the corollary is, but it is an interesting development.

The mindset pervades my day. When I was off this week from school (Spring? Break), the first thing I did was workout. I find this to be liberating,as I get it out of the way, and feel better. I look forward to working out, all while losing my 1.5 to 2 lbs per week. I also like buying new pants that actually fit comfortably...I am happy about my progress...Be sure to check out my other News-Herald blog on golf if you are interested...

Unfortunately, I will not be at the group weigh-in this month. I have a Golf Channel Tournament at Sawmill Creek. I'll see all of you at some point...

Things continue..

Things have settled into a nice routine in the P90X/elliptical routine. I am now using the elliptical with the Nike BOOM app three times per week for about 35 minutes each time. I have been upping the resistance on the elliptical. My P90X routines are also progressing, and I can tell by looking at my worksheets that I am again getting stronger. Additionally, I continue to lose weight slowly and steadily. I feel that the 6lbs per month that I am losing is OK with me. I like the fact that I am losing the weight slowly - I feel that this will be more effective in keeping the weight off.

Additionally, the weight watchers aspect is helping as well. We have made a healthier lifestyle change, and we are eating better. In the past, this was the hardest part to control. Now it is under control. This will help me also, and I can eat what I want, which is a key. I'm not necessarily in it to win, but we will see when everything is said and done. I fell 1000% better, and look better too! Good luck to all the contestants, and keep exercising!
